The Omega Speedmaster ’57, has an iressitable vintage vibe, one that is incredibly appealing to us watch enthusiasts. The best parts of this watch is that it has a stainless steel bezel without black aluminum insert, the case does not not crown-guards and it features straight lugs. Unlike the 1957-1959 Speedmaster, this new version does not have “broad arrow” hands- even though the hour counter at 3 o’clock seems to have a bit arrow action going on. The layout of the dial represents another difference between the new ’57 Speedmaster and the old version. The first ’57 Speedmaster watch was a manually wound timepiece while the new one has a self-winding mechanism.
The Omega Speedmaster ’57 is available in numerous different colors of dial and case: stainless steel with a black dial, rose gold, full yellow-gold on a yellow gold bracelet, two tone and titanium. A replica watch costs only a couple hundred dollars and it offers me the chance to enjoy the appeal and style of this beautiful timepiece.
The dial of the watch has a clean and elegant texture. The chronographs are correctly positioned at 3 and 9 o’clock while the date window is at 6 o’clock. The hour markers and hands are made from solid stainless steel and are covered with luminor coating to enhance night legibility. The bezel, case and bracelet are made from solid stainless steel. The Omega ’57 Speedmaster replica watch is pretty heavy, just like an original watch should feel. The stainless steel seems to be sturdy and very resistant.
